Career Mentoring & Career Transition
Helping you navigate change and create work that feels more alive, aligned and meaningful.
Often in life, we simply carry on.
We keep going because the job is familiar, the salary matters, the title makes sense, or the next step feels too uncertain. From the outside, things may look perfectly fine. But somewhere beneath the surface, something feels wrong. Something has gone quiet. Something in you no longer feels fully alive.
It takes courage to listen to that. It takes even more courage to act on it, especially when you are not forced to change by redundancy, restructuring, burnout or some other external shift.
That is where career mentoring can be deeply useful.
Not as someone telling you what to do, but as someone walking alongside you while you begin to see the bigger picture.
Together, we look at what is already within you: your strengths, skills, experience, values, purpose, energy and potential. We explore what makes you feel alive, what gives you vitality and meaning, and what kind of work might allow more of you to come through.
This can be practical, reflective, deep, light, serious, creative — or all of those things at different moments. We can go as deep as you want to go. Either way, the work is worth doing.
Because we only get one life.
And finding work that feels more aligned with who you are can be energising, creative and surprisingly enjoyable.
A different kind of coaching conversation

Career mentoring with me is structured, but spacious. It creates room to think clearly about where you are, what you actually want, what you may need to let go of, and what a meaningful next step might look like.
This is not about rushing you towards a perfect answer. It is about helping you listen more carefully to what is already there: your energy, values, fears, responsibilities, hopes, experience and imagination.
Sometimes the work is practical: exploring options, testing ideas, building confidence, preparing for conversations, or thinking through the realities of going freelance, starting a business or changing sector.
Sometimes the work is deeper: reconnecting with purpose, making sense of identity after a major transition, or finding the courage to stop repeating the same pattern simply because it feels familiar.
I bring my own experience to that conversation. My career has taken me through high-end hospitality, UK diplomacy, building my own coaching and facilitation practice in Mallorca, and developing regenerative work rooted in people, place and planet. Those transitions were not always neat or easy. They involved uncertainty, identity shifts, practical questions, courage, doubt and experimentation.
That experience shapes how I work with people at their own crossroads. I understand what it takes to make a significant change, and what tends to get in the way.
How my approach shapes my career mentoring
Career advice often starts from the outside in: the market, the advertised roles, the transferable skills, and then the decision.
My approach starts somewhere quieter and deeper.
Before rushing towards roles, sectors or opportunities, we create space to understand what is really happening. What kind of work gives you energy? Where do you create real value? What are you ready to leave behind? What would it mean to build a career around who you are becoming, rather than fitting yourself around work that no longer feels alive?
This does not mean ignoring the practical realities of the market. In a rapidly changing world, many opportunities are not found by waiting for the right job advert to appear. They are created through curiosity, conversation, relationships and noticing what others need.
Part of the work may therefore involve exploring your network, identifying possible openings and having the conversations that help new possibilities emerge.
This is not about forcing faster answers. It is about creating the conditions where the right ones can take root.

What we work on
The territory we cover is shaped by what you bring, but common themes include:
- Clarifying what gives you energy, vitality, meaning and purpose.
- Understanding what you have learnt from both fulfilling and unfulfilling work.
- Exploring what you actually value in your work, beyond salary, status or other people’s expectations.
- Making sense of what has kept you where you are, and whether those reasons still hold.
- Working with fear, uncertainty, loyalty, guilt or the pull of familiar patterns.
- Exploring what a genuinely fulfilling career could look like, without closing things down too quickly.
- Building confidence to make a move, without forcing yourself into action before you are ready.
- Testing possibilities through small experiments before making major decisions.
- For those considering independence, thinking through what going freelance, building a portfolio career or starting a business would involve, both practically and personally.
This is not about pushing you towards dramatic reinvention for its own sake. Sometimes the right answer is a major change. Sometimes it is a smaller shift that brings your work back into alignment.
The work is to listen carefully enough to know the difference.
What a typical engagement looks like

We start with a free Exploration Session. This is an informal conversation, not a sales call. Its purpose is to understand where you are, what you are working with, and whether working together feels like the right fit.
If we decide to proceed, a typical engagement usually runs for around six to twelve sessions, depending on your needs, context and pace. Some people arrive with a clear decision to make. Others need a regular thinking space as they explore a wider transition over time.
Sessions usually last around 45 to 60 minutes. They are spaced to give you time to reflect, experiment and let things settle between conversations, rather than moving so quickly that nothing has a chance to take root.
Between sessions, I may provide practical tools, reflective exercises and continued support where useful. The work does not stop when the session ends.
Sessions are available online or in person. In-person sessions are based in Mallorca. For those wanting a deeper and more immersive experience, career mentoring can also form part of a dedicated retreat or regenerative sabbatical in the Tramuntana Mountains, creating the space to step back, think deeply and reconnect with what really matters.
Who leadership coaching is for
Career mentoring tends to be most valuable at moments of genuine transition, uncertainty or possibility.
I work with people who are:
- Feeling unfulfilled or stuck in their current role, and sensing that something needs to change but not yet sure what.
- Ready to make a career change but held back by uncertainty about direction, risk or how to begin.
- Recently made redundant and wanting to use the transition thoughtfully rather than simply rush into the next available role.
- Considering going freelance, building a portfolio career or starting a business for the first time.
- Returning to work after a significant life event and wanting to approach the next chapter with more intention.
- Leaving school or university and wanting more thoughtful support than the usual career advice provides.
- Established in their career but quietly wondering whether the path they are on is still the right one.
- Coming towards the end of a successful career and looking for something more meaningful, purposeful or regenerative.
What these situations share is not a job title, age or sector. It is the feeling of standing at a crossroads and wanting to navigate it thoughtfully rather than reactively.
I enjoy working with people from different backgrounds, cultures and stages of life. I work in English and Spanish, and can also work in French where helpful.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose me as your career mentor?
I bring both professional mentoring and coaching experience, and lived experience of reinvention. My own career has moved through high-end hospitality, UK diplomacy, coaching, facilitation and regenerative work in Mallorca, so I understand career transition from the inside. I know it can involve courage, doubt, identity, money, family, purpose and practical choices. I also love this work. I enjoy helping people see the bigger picture, reconnect with their strengths, and explore what might be possible when their work becomes more aligned with who they are.
Do I need to know what I want before starting?
No. Not knowing what you want is often exactly where the work begins. You may only know that something feels wrong, that your energy has dropped, or that the path you are on no longer feels fully alive. That is enough. The process is designed to work with uncertainty, not rush around it.
Can I do this while I am still in my current job?
Yes, and often that is a very good time to begin. It gives you the stability to reflect, experiment and explore possibilities while still having the financial security of your current role. You do not need to wait until things become unbearable. Sometimes the wisest moment to start is when you can still choose, rather than when change has been forced upon you.
What if I have been made redundant or am between roles?
Redundancy or time between jobs can feel unsettling, especially if you are facing it alone. It can also become a powerful and creative threshold. Career mentoring can help you use that space well: to recover, think clearly, rebuild confidence, explore options and avoid rushing into the next role simply to escape uncertainty.
Is this only for people who want to go freelance, start a business or build something of their own?
Not at all. Career mentoring is relevant to anyone at a crossroads. That might mean leaving school or university, changing sector, returning to work after a break, stepping into a more senior role, building a portfolio career, becoming a founder, or coming towards the end of a successful career and looking for something more meaningful. Freelance, founder and business-building questions are one part of the work, not the whole of it.
